AFC Ajax is a professional Dutch football team from the city of Amsterdam (capital of the Netherlands). He is one of the most titled clubs in Europe and is among the dominant teams in Eredivisie (along with PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord form the "Big Three" of Eredivisie) and has won the most championships. Won the European Champions Cup, winning it three times in a row - from 1971 to 1973. In 1971/72 they have managed to make a treble, winning the Eredivisie, the Dutch Cup (KNVB Cup) and the CASH. It was founded in 1900. It plays at the Amsterdam Arena and is nicknamed the "Ajax", the "Jews" and the "Sons of the Gods".

Holds the record for the most championship titles in Eredivisie - a total of 33. Also holds the record for Dutch Cups (KNVB Cup) won - 18. The club is an eight times winner of the Dutch Super Cup. It has also won the Champions League (4), the KNK (1), the UEFA Cup / Europa League (1), the Intertoto (2), the Intercontinental Cup (2) and the European Super Cup (2).

The story of Ajax's "Jewish roots" is curious. It is not an official Jewish club, but since the 1930s it has acquired the image of a team associated with Jewish society, because at that time their home stadium was located next to the Jewish neighborhood. The city of Amsterdam has historically been called the city of Mokum, with "mokum" being the word for "place" or "safe haven / asylum" in Yiddish (a German language spoken by approximately 4 million Ashkenazi Jews). After anti-Semitic shouts and insults from supporters of opposing clubs began, Ajax fans responded by embracing the club's "Jewish identity."
