PEC Zwolle is a professional football team from Zwolle, the Netherlands. It was founded in 1990 after the previous team in Zwolle disbanded. It plays at the Mac Park Stadium - with a capacity of 12,500 spectators.

The team has reached the final for the KNVB Cup four times. The first time was in 1928, when they lost to Heemstede with a final score of 2:0. The second time they reached the final was in 1977, when they lost to Twente 3:0 after added time. The third time they achieved their greatest success was winning the Dutch Cup in the 2013/14 season, when they beat Ajax in the final with a convincing result - 5:1. In the same year the team again beat Ajax, this time for the Dutch Super Cup (Johan Cruyff Shield), with 1:0 and became the winner of this trophy. Its best place in the Eredivisie is 6th. In 2015 they played again in the cup final, but lost to FC Groningen with 2:0. Zwolle's best performance in European club tournaments was the participation in the playoffs for the Europa League in the 2014/15 season, but unfortunately lost to Sparta Prague with a total score of 2:4.

Today's Zwolle is a sequel to its 1990-bankrupt predecessor of the same name. The current club was established immediately after the bankruptcy of the previous team and was initially called FC Zwolle before re-adopting the name PEC Zwolle in 2012.

The biggest opponent of the club is "Go Ahead Eagles". Both teams are located at the IJssel river, which is why the meetings between them are called the "IJssel Derby". In the early years, Go Ahead Eagles were the best club in the area, but since they were relegated to the Dutch First Division in 1987, Zwolle has won the most derbies.
