Willem II Tilburg Football Club is a professional team from Tilburg, North Brabant, the Netherlands. In Bulgaria it is mostly known by his abbreviated name Willem II. It was founded in 1896 under the name Tilburgia, and in 1898 the club was renamed Willem II in honor of the King of the Netherlands, Willem II, who ruled from 1840-1849. The name of its stadium is also associated with the king - "Koning Willem II", as "koning" in Dutch means "king".

The team has won Eredivisie three times. Also a three-time winner of the Dutch Cup (KNVB Cup).

Willem II's first appearance in European club tournaments was in 1963, when they played in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, but lost in the first round to Manchester United with a total score of 7:2. In the 1998/99 season they played again in the KNK, beating Dinamo Tbilisi with a total of 6:0, but then losing to Real Betis with a total of 4:1. They played in the Champions League for the first time after their second place in the Eredivisie in 1999. In the group stage collected only 2 points from 6 matches and were eliminated.

At the end of the 2010/11 season, for the first time in 24 years, it dropped out of the Eredivisie. But the following season they have managed to return to Eredivisie. They were relegated again and of course the following season became a champion in the First Division (Eerste) and won promotion to the Eredivisie.

In 2015, Volkskrant reporters revealed that Willem II's matches were rigged by an "Asian gambling union" that paid Willem's players a total of 100,000 euros to lose the matches against Ajax and Feyenoord in October and December 2009. According to the Royal Dutch Football Association, this was the most heavily backed case of match-fixing in the Netherlands. This was followed by legal action and a reassessment of previous meetings.
