Koninkleike Wutbalclub Ostend (or KV Oostende or simply KVO) is a professional football team from Ostend, Belgium, which was founded in 1981. The Bulgarian football player Vladislav Mirchev played for them.

In 1911, another team was formed, AC Ostend, which would soon become the best club in the city, playing regularly in the Second Division in the 1930s. In the mid-1970s, they have played in the First Division, while VG Ostend, another team from the city, played in the second tier of football in Belgium.

These two teams merged in 1981 to create KV Oostende. The new club played in the Third Division for 11 years, before finally winning a promotion. During the first season in second tier, KVO immediately got a new promotion, this time to the First Division. In the 1993/94 season the club achieved their best result in the its history - 7th place.

From 1995 to 2013 Ostend played in the Second Division, except for two seasons in the First and two seasons in the Third Division.

In 2013, shortly after a new transfer to a higher level, the First Division, it was announced that director and major shareholder Ives Leiagere would be replaced by a new director, businessman Mark Kukke.

In the spring of 2016, the main grandstand of the Albertparkstadion was rebuilt and the stadium was renamed the Versluys Arena with a capacity of 8,432 people.

After a terrible start to the 2017/18 season, manager Even Vanderhege was released and his assistant manager, Adnan Čustović, replaced him.

In December 2017, Mark Kukke announced that he was leaving the team shortly after buying RSK Anderlecht. Later, on February 8, 2018, it was announced that Peter Calant would replace Kukke as director.

Ostend's best achievements are reaching the final of the Belgian Cup in 2016/17, as well as the two seasons during which they were champions in the Second Division.
