Turn- und Sportgemeinschaft 1899 Hoffenheim or simply TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is a sport club from the district of Baned, Baden-Württemberg, Germany known for their football team. It was founded in 1899 and is nicknamed "Hofe". The football team plays its matches at the Rhine-Neckar-Arena.

The team was founded in 1899 as the Hoffenheim Gymnastics Association, focusing on gymnastics and athletics. In 1957, the newly elected leadership joined the Baden-North Sports Union in 1899, and the football team began playing in the local municipal group and after that in the regional football league.

Thanks to the local billionaire Dietmar Hop, who funded them after 1990, the team began to flourish. The club reached the Baden League in 1996, and a few seasons later managed to qualify for the Regional League South. After that they were promoted to the Second Bundesliga. And in the 2007/08 season they managed to qualify for the First Bundesliga.

They have several significant setbacks, even having to play in the playoffs to stay in the league, but managed to pull together and stay in Germany's top league. In the 2013/14 season they have very strange statistics - the third best team in the league in terms of goals scored, but also the weakest team in defense; they scored 72 goals and conceded 70. In 2015/16 they are again close to relegation, but remain in the league. However, the following seasons were much more successful, as the club even managed to qualify for the Champions League.
