The Freiburg Sports Club is a professional German football team from Freiburg, Baden-Wurttemberg. It is nicknamed the "Breisgau Brazilians" and the "Black Forest team". It was founded in 1904 and since 1954 its stadium has been the Schwarzwald-Stadion. Famous players are Uwe Wasmer, Michael Wagner, Stefan Mueller, Joachim Lev and others.

Joachim Loew has the most goals for Freiburg - 81 total. Andreal Zeyer has the most games played with 435 appearances with the team's shirt.

The team is a four-time champion in the Second Bundesliga, and has won several regional and local leagues. Also a three-time winner of the South Baden Cup.

Until the 50s, the history of the team was mediocre. But even at that time it was known for his team spirit and enthusiasm. This led them to the Second Bundesliga in 1978/79. They played there for fifteen years, and then managed to win a place in the First Bundesliga in 1993/94. In their second season, they finished in third place, and their biggest successes was reaching the UEFA Cup in 1995 and 2001.

They were relegated from the First Bundesliga in 2005/06, finishing fourth in the Second Bundesliga the following season and failing to advance. But again won a promotion to the First Bundesliga in 2009. They have reached fifth place in the top German league in 2012/13, which is their best ranking since 1994/95. In 2014/15 they dropped out again, but the following season they managed to win their fifth "promotion" in the First Bundesliga.
