Toulouse Football Club (known by its nicknames TFK, Le Tef, Le Tefese) is a professional football team from the city of Toulouse, France. It was founded in 1970. Plays its home matches at the Stadio Municipal de Toulouse.

It has twice won the Ligue 2 (once reaching second place) and once won the French Cup (Coupe de France). The club has played five times in European tournaments. In 2008 they have qualified for the UEFA Champions League.

The home kit of the team is purple with white shorts, while the away colours are all purple - Toulouse is nicknamed the City of Violets.

The club began competing in Ligue 2 and was then called Union Sportiv Toulouse, but adopted the name Toulouse FC in 1979. Won a promotion to Ligue 1 in 1982. The first campaign in Europe was in the 1986/87 UEFA Cup, but they have failed to make progress. In 1994, the team dropped out of the league, and then moved several times between the top two leagues in France. But due to financial problems in 2001 he dropped out of the third division. Two seasons later, he returned to League 1 and steadily improved, reaching a memorable campaign in 2007, when he finished third and qualified for the third qualifying round for the Champions League. Unfortunately, he lost to Liverpool with a total score of 5:0.

Then followed a bad season and a much better one, in which they managed to qualify for the Europa League. After that, however, for several seasons with great effort they managed to avoid relegation and managed to keep their place in Ligue 1.
