Herta Sports Club BSHK Berlin, or commonly called Herta, is a club from the German capital, Berlin. It was founded in 1892 and is one of the most popular clubs in the city. It is mostly known with the football club and is nicknamed the "old lady". Hosts away teams at the Olympic Stadium, Berlin. Also one of the founders of the German Football Association in Leipzig in 1990.

It initially played under the name Hertha 92 and did well on the field, winning his first final of the Berlin Championship in 1905. Later merged with the Berliner Sport Club to form the Hertha Berliner Sport Club. During that period they have won the title twice. After the war it was transformed as Gezundrunnen and played in the amateur league of Berlin. By the end of 1949, it was renamed Hertha BSC and returned to the top league in Germany.

At the time of the creation of the Bundesliga in 1963, Hertha was the champion of Berlin and became a member of the new professional national league. It was relegated to a lower league after the 1964/65 season due to attempts to bribe players to play in the city after the Berlin Wall was built. They managed to return to the First Bundesliga in 1968/69. Then were involved in a scandal again and huge debts are revealed. Experiencing financial difficulties again in 1994, as the club found itself 10 million marks in debt. Again they managed to cope.

Spent the 2010/11 season in the Second Bundesliga, but managed to return to the First Bundesliga in 2011/12, only to return to the lower division after losing in the playoffs to remain in the top league. But, in the end, after the 2012/13 season they returned to the First Bundesliga and play there since then.
