Real Club Celta de Vigo is a professional football team from Vigo, Spain. They are known by their nickname "Celtinias" (Little Celts). They host the visiting teams at Balaidos Stadium. The club was founded in 1923 by merging two clubs from the city - Real Fortuna de Vigo and Real Vigo Sporting. Among the several names proposed, Real Club Celta was chosen because most of the inhabitants of Galicia (a region in Spain) are identified with the ancient Celts, to whom they are heirs.

The team has 3 appearances in the final of Copa del Rey. Became a champion in Intertoto (once). Won the Vigo Cup 13 times and the Galicia Cup once. They are also winners of the Teresa Herrera Trophy, the Xacobeo Trophy, the TIM Trophy, the Kinocho Memorial Trophy. The best results for the team are in the period from 1997 to 2003. But then their results deteriorate dramatically. They were relegated to Segunda Division. Due to financial problems, they sell a lot of players and make a lot of layoffs. In 2012, however, they managed to return to La Liga after a five-year absence. In the 2015/16 season, they even managed to win a place in the Europa League, thus returning to the European football scene, reaching the semifinals, but were eliminated by Manchester United.
