The Brighton & Hove Albion is an English team from the city with the same name. It is known by the nickname "the seagulls" (due to the fact that the city of Brighton and Hove is located on the south coast of England). It was founded in 1901 and welcomes its rivals to the Falmer Stadium.

The club is one of the founders of the Southern Football League in the country. Became a member of the football league in 1920. Played in the First Division between 1979 and 1983 and reached the final of the Football Association Cup in 1989, but lost to Manchester United and dropped out of the league the same season.

Subsequently, there were a number of difficulties, including financial (even had to sell the stadium). But in 2001 won the Third Division, the following season won the Second Division (although returned back to it in the following year), and eventually moved to the Championship in 2004, entered the Premier League after the 2016/17 season.

Brighton players, for most of the team's history, have played with blue and white kit, but it has changed several times - in the 70s of the 20th century they briefly appeared with all-white kit, and in the 1980s, all blue.
