Angers SCO (or just Angers) is a professional French football team founded in 1919 in the city of Angers. The club plays its home games at the Stade Raymond Kopa.

Since its founding in 1919, the team has spent most of its history "jumping" between the first two divisions. But in several cases it was eliminated even to the third division, the last season in which they spent in 2006/07.

The highest ranking in the French championship was in 1966/67, when the team reached 3rd place in the table. In 1994, they have dropped out of Ligue 1 and spent many years in the lower leagues, until they finally managed to return to the highest level of French football in the 2015/16 season.

Angers played a total of 23 seasons in the top division, Ligue 1. In addition, when it finished 4th in the 1971/72 season, competed in the UEFA Cup.

In its first season back in Ligue 1 (2015/16) the club finished 9th in the final standings. They managed to make a good comeback by winning their first game of the league against Montpellier with 2:0.

In 2017, Angers played in the final of the French Cup against Paris-Saint-Germain. Angers lost the match 1:0 due to an own goal in the 91st minute. At the end of the 2017/18 season in Ligue 1, Angers finished 14th in the table, and Cameroonian striker Carl Toco Ekambi finished with an amazing 17 goals in the league.

The home kit of the team is white shirts with black stripes and black shorts. The away kit is a white shirt with white pants. Its coat of arms is also a combination of black and white.
