The Spanish championship will once again delight its supporters with El Clasico. The fierce battle between Real Madrid and Barcelona will take place on Sunday at 17:15 at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Last season they met a total of three times, in two of which the "white ballet" came out the ultimate winner. Barcelona achieved a clear success with 0:4 precisely at the stadium in Madrid.

Just two rounds ago, Real Madrid surrendered their leadership position in La Liga to their opponent today. This came after a ridiculous draw with Osasuna at home. The visitors were even a man down when Karim Benzema missed a penalty. Thus, the meeting ended with a score of 1:1 and this allowed Barcelona to level with the "white ballet" in points.
Just a few days ago, Real Madrid recorded another disappointing draw, this time in the Champions League. His visit to Shakhtar Donetsk could even end in defeat. Antonio Rüdiger, however, scored in the last five added minutes of the match for the final 1:1. Thus, the Spaniards remain at the top of the group and will almost certainly continue to the elimination phase.

The situation for Barcelona in the Champions League is far more difficult. The Catalans have won just one of their four matches so far in the group. This happened already in the first round, when they defeated Viktoria Pilsen at home with 5:1. In their next two matches, however, they lost to Bayern Munich and Inter.

The second meeting with the Italian team took place last week. Barcelona were on the verge of losing again, but Robert Lewandowski pulled his team out with two goals for a 3-3 draw. It is he who has the main credit for most of the victories of the "Catalans" in La Liga. The Pole has scored in six of his team's last seven league matches.

Even after the draws with Shakhtar Donetsk and Osasuna, Real Madrid are in better form than Barcelona. Although this is not so important in such derbies, I expect the hosts to do the job on Sunday. They have already almost guaranteed a place in the knockout phase of the Champions League and have only the championship to think about until the end of the year.
