Ural Football Club is a professional team from the Russian city of Ekaterinburg. Before adopting its current name, it was a factory team named Uralmash for a long time. It was founded in 1930. It hosts the visiting teams at the Ekaterinburg Arena stadium, which has a capacity of 35,000 people. He is nicknamed the "Orange and Black" and the "Bumblebees".

When it was founded, the name of the team was Uralmashstroy. In 1935 they have won the championship of the city of Sverdlovsk. In the period 1945-69 it played in the championship of the USSR, but in 1969 the club was relegated. It spent a season in a lower division before returning to the elite. Ural reached twice the quarterfinals of the USSR Cup.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ural began playing in Russia's elite. In 1993 and 1995 the club reached eighth place in the league. Participates in the Intertoto Cup, where they have met the Bulgarian team CSKA Sofia and reached the semifinals.

The following season it dropped out of the First League. The club was in a crisis and was eliminated in the Second Division, Ural zone. In 2002 they have returned to the second level of Russian football after winning the championship in the Second Division.

The following year, Piotr Khrustovsky, a player in the club, died in an accident and in his honor, his number 23 was taken out of use at the club.

In 2006 Ural reached the third place in the First Division. Later qualified for the semifinals of the Russian Cup.

In February 2012, the club won the FNL Cup, but remained in sixth place in the championship. In 2013 it had a strong season and managed to secure his return to the elite ahead of schedule after 17 years of absence.
