RKC Waalwijk - detailed statistics and predictions for the upcoming matches
RKC Waalwijk also known as Waalwijk is a football club from the Netherlands. The abbreviation RKC means Roman Catholic Combinations (Dutch: Roman Catholic Combination). The team is the result of the merger of several local teams - WVB, Herucles and HEC. The official date of establishment of Valwijk is August 26, 1940, which makes it a relatively new club by Dutch standards.
Waalwijk plays with yellow and blue kit, as is the color combination of the team's logo. The home matches are held at Mandemakers Stadium, which has a capacity of 7,500 seats. It was opened in 1996 with a match against Roda. Previously, Waalwijk used the sports facility "Sportpark Olympia", which is multifunctional.
The club from the southern parts of the Netherlands is not among the most popular and recognizable teams. However, much of their 80-year history is directly related to the first division (Eredivise). Waalwijk often plays in the Eredivisie, with a few exceptions, which are especially noticeable in the last few seasons.
The team has never been a contender for a title or a higher ranking in the table, it is mainly satisfied with positioning in the middle of the table. From 1988 to 2007 it was regularly present in the elite of the Netherlands, the best being the 7th place achieved in 1991 and 2001. The only club trophies are tied to Eerste Divisie (second Dutch league) and it was won in 1987/1988 and 2010/2011.
Waalwijk has played several times in European club tournaments, more precisely in a non-existent competition - the Intertoto Cup. They do not achieve impressive results, as they are eliminated either in the group stage or in the preliminary stages of the competition.
After a five-year absence from the first level of Dutch football, Waalwijk returned to the best in the 2019/2020 season. During these few years, the club had collapsed financially and maintaining its professional status seemed almost impossible. However, the management dealt with the problem and delivered exciting moments to the fans, tied to matches against the grandees of local football.
