The Southampton is a football club from Southampton, England. The nickname of the club is "The saints". It was established in 1885, playing its home games at St. Mary's Stadium. He traditionally wears red and white outfits.

It was created by students and teachers in the parish of St. Marys (which bears the nickname "saints"). In 1898 it was moved to Dolchinkata Stadium until 2001, when they moved to their current field. The team joined the Football League in 1920. At the beginning they played in the First Division (today's Premier League) in 1966. In 1992 they were one of the co-founders of the Premier League.
