Roma sports association (Associazione Sportiva Roma), briefly called only Roma, is a football club from the Italian capital, Rome. It is often called "wolves" or "yellow-reds". It was founded in 1927 and hosts home games at the Stadio Olimpico along with Lazio.

It was created after the unification of three teams from Rome. The first successful season was 1930/31, when they finished second. Reached their first championship title in 1941/42. After the end of World War II, the team was relegated to Serie B for the first time, but was soon promoted to the forefront. Later won Coppa Italia and the Serie A trophy. Played in the 1983/84 European Champions Cup final, but lost to Liverpool on penalties. The club won the Italian Super Cup for the first time in the 2000/01 season, when one of the main factors for this success was the captain of Roma, Francesco Totti, who is a football legend and a record holder in Serie A matches (619), as well as a top goalscorer of the team with its 307 goals. In the 2016/17 season, they set a new record for the number of points earned in one Serie A season (87).

There are a lot of rivalries, the most serious being against their city opponent Lazio, with whom they share Stadio Olimpico. This rivalry is one of the fiercest in football history and has taken casualties. One of the serious incidents resulted resulted in death due to fireworks. Another serious incident injured 150 people due to clashes between police and fans.
