Real Valladolid football club is a professional team from the city of the same name in Spain. The nickname of the club is "purple". It was founded in 1928 and plays its home games at the Estadio Jose Soria. Two famous Bulgarian football players played for them - Zlatko Yankov and Vladimir Manchev.

The team has only one trophy of greater importance and that is the trophy from the League Cup from the 1983/84 season. Were among the finalists for Copa del Rey in two seasons and played two times in UEFA Europa League (as well as in one edition of the UEFA Women's Cup).

This is the most successful team in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León. Played 43 seasons in the First Division, 35 in the Second and 10 in the Third. Historically, the team is the 13th best in Spain in terms of total points.

Reached the top level in Spanish football after the 1947/48 season, and the following year reached the cup finals, where they faced Athletic Bilbao, but lost 4:1.

For the next 10 years, Real Valladolid played in the First Division (today's La Liga). Then was relegated to the lower division only briefly and returned to the top division in Spain, thanks to the 5:0 victory over Terrace in the 1958/59 season. In the following years they fluctuated between the first and second division. One of the best years for the club was the 2006/07 season, when they have won the league. In addition, in the same year they made a series of 29 games without a loss.

On September 3, 2018, it was announced that the former international player, Ronaldo, has become the main shareholder of the club after buying 51% of its shares.
