Overall, the loss does not change the situation in the standings and the battle for the Top 4. Arsenal still has an advantage due to its two games played less than its main pursuers, but the tension is certainly rising. United shortened the distance to the Gunners by just one point after beating Tottenham 3-2. With Arsenal still facing tough away games in London against Chelsea, West Ham and Tottenham, Saturday's game at Villa Park could certainly be key in the standings for fourth place.

Unlike in previous years, Aston Villa did not make the most of its home advantage. During the season, the "Villas" played several disappointing matches in front of their fans, most notably the 1-0 defeat against Watford. In his last home game, however, Aston Villa broke 4-0 against Southampton and are obliged to continue at the same pace. As a guest, Arsenal are not as convincing in defense as they are at Emirates, and Aston Villa will definitely have their chances. Statistics show that the 2.5-goal line has been crossed by an average of 64% of Villa's home and away games against Arsenal this season.
