RKD Mallorca is a football club from Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands. It was established on March 5, 1916 by Adolfo Vazquez. Changed their name several times before acquiring this name in 1931. The abbreviation RKD is an abbreviation of Real Club Deportivo, and its use is necessary for political reasons.

Mallorca plays with all-red home kit, and all white kit for their away games. The club uses the Iberostar Stadium, better known today as the Estadie di Son Moix. The facility is suitable for 23,142 people and has been maintained by the team since 1999.
In the early years after its founding, RKD Mallorca struggled with varying degrees of success in the lower divisions of Spanish football. First qualified for the elite in the 1960/1961 season and finished on 9th position. The Reds have 28 seasons in La Liga, recording their best performance at the beginning of the new century - 3rd place after Real and Deportivo La Coruna.

The club from Palma de Mallorca has two championship titles from Segunda. The most significant achievement in their 103-year history was recorded in the 2002/2003 season, when they won Copa del Rey after a success in the final over Recreativo with 0:3. Also finalists in the tournament in 1991 and 1998. On April 29, 1998 they lost in the final to Barcelona after penalties, but in the subsequent match for the Super Cup they triumphed with 2:1.

The biggest victory in La Liga was achieved on March 9, 2008, when they beat Recreativo with 7:1. The most devastating loss dates back to two decades earlier, after allowing 7 unanswered goals from the Atletico Madrid. Most goals in one season were scored in 2007/2008 - 69.

Miguel Angel Nadal has the most matches for Deportivo Mallorca - 255 games, and Samuel Eto’o  has the most goals - 54. Bulgarian goal scorers Petar Kurdov and Petar Mihtarski have played for the club.
