Yenisey Football Club is a professional team from the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk. It was established in 1937 and was called Lokomotiv when it was founded. He is nicknamed the "Lions" and the "Red and Blues". He plays his matches at the Central Stadium, which has a capacity of 22,500 people. The Bulgarian Rosen Kolev was part of the Yenisei.

When founded, the club spent one season in Class D of the Soviet League. In 1957 it was reformed and entered the Far Eastern zone of Class B. In 1968 it changed its name to Dawn, and in 1970 to Motorist. In 1991, one became Metallurg and remained with that name until 2010, when it was changed to Metallurg-Yenisei. In 2011 it adopted its current name, which comes from the name of the Yenisei River, on which Krasnoyarsk is located.

It never played in the USSR Premier League or the Russian Premier League until 2018. Their best result in the Soviet League was second place in the seventh group of Class B in 1959, and their best result in the Russian Championship was third place in the Russian National Football League in 2016/17 and 201718. After the collapse of the Soviet Union the club has been relegated to the Second Division several times, most recently in 2006. In 2015/16 he remained in 16th place in the NFL and should have dropped out, but one of the winners in the league refused the promotion due to lack of finances, and the Yenisei remained in the NFL.

At the end of the 2016/17 season, Yenisei reached the playoffs for promotion to the Premier League, but lost to FC Arsenal Tula, due to the rule of goals as a guest and remained in the NFL. The following season, he again qualified for the playoffs for promotion and defeated FC Anzhi Makhachkala with a total of 6:4, qualifying for the elite of Russia.
