Viking Football Club, or Viking Stavanger, also known by the nickname "The dark blues", is a professional team from the Norwegian city of Stavanger. It was founded in 1899 and is one of the most successful teams in Norwegian football. The club won 8 Norwegian top division titles, the most recent in 1991, and 5 Norwegian National Cups - the last in 2001. It has played more matches in the elite than any other team and has been in the top division since the league was founded, except in 1996/97, 1987/88 and 2018.

Played in the Europa League, Champions League and KNK. The club has the fewest matches played in the Cup Winners' Cup, where it has played only twice and lost both games. There are 14 matches in the Champions League, of which Viking won 1, lost 11 and drawn 2. Viking has played a total of 50 matches in the Europa League, winning 20 of them, losing 18 and having 12 draws.

The biggest local and historical rivalries are with Brann, Haugesund, Sandnes Ulf and Start. Rivals with Brann and Haugesund are often called Vestlandsderbyet (the derby of Western Norway). The rivalry with Start is called the Derby of Southwest Norway. Haugesundand Sandnes Ulf are in Rogaland, the same area as the Vikings. Geographically Sandnes Ulf are the closest rivals. Brian is often considered to be Viking's biggest rival and the last season they met in the league was in 2003, but since then the two clubs have played matches for the cup.
