Der Erste Football Club Nuremberg Ferrain für Leibesyubungen (in short Nurnberg) is a professional German football team from Nuremberg (the city where the famous trials against Nazi war criminals took place), Bavaria. The team was founded in 1900 and is nicknamed "the club", "The Old Master", "Effze Ann" and "the Franks". Playing their home games at Max-Morlock Stadion.

Until 1995, the club was mixed - both football and other sports departments - but then the football section split and gained its independence. Till 1987 Nuremberg holds the record in the country with 9 Bundesliga titles, but then was overtaken (by Bayern Munich). In the mid-80's the club get the nickname "elevator team" because it failed to stay long in one division.

Nine-time champion of Germany and also has 4 DFB-Pokals. In the eternal ranking of the First Bundesliga it is in 15th place. Won the Intertoto Cup in 1968 and also reached the semifinals of the National Cup Winners' Cup in the 1962/63 season.

After World War II, they have won a further eleven regional championships, including the Oberliga Sud, which was formed in 1945, and were champions of Germany another seven times before the establishment of the Bundesliga in 1963. Later dropped out to the Second Division, where the club remained for the next nine years, only to return and drop out again. the team has a lot of similar ups and downs. In the mid-90s, due to financial problems, the club have had points deductedand and dropped out to the third division. But later managed to return, only to drop out again. Fortunately for them, in the 2017/18 season they have managed to win a place in the First Bundesliga again.
