Everton FC is a professional football team from England, based in Liverpool and playing in the Premier League. It was established in 1878. The nickname of the club is "caramels". They play their home games at Goodison Park Stadium. The club is also famous for their derbies against their local rival Liverpool.

Everton are one of the 12 founders of the English Championship. In addition, this is the team that has the most participations in the highest echelon of the English football.

It was founded in 1878 and was initially named "St. Domingo", but 12 months later received its current name. It was created with the idea that the people of the parish could play sports in the winter (in the summer they played cricket). But later, along with Preston, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bolton W, West Bromwich, Aston Villa, Darby County, Burnley, Notts County, Accrington and Stoke City, they became the founders of the country's football league. The team ended in 8th place in their first season, but in the third season (1890/91) they have won their first cup. In 1893, Everton reached the final of the FA Cup for the first time (also known as the Football Association Cup), but was defeated by Wolverhampton. This was repeated 4 years later when Aston Villa managed to beat the caramels. But the association's trophy was finally won by Everton in 1906.
