Sociedad Deportiva Eibar - abbreviated only Eibar - is a professional football team from the city of Eibar, in the province of Guipúzcoa, Basque Country, Spain. It was founded in 1940. Plays their home games at the Municipal Ipirua Stadium. Also known by the nickname "gunsmiths". It featured many internationally renowned players, including Xabi Alonso, Manuel Almunia, David Silva and Derek Boateng.

It was formed after the merger of Deportivo Gallo and Unión Deportiva Eibarresa, and was originally known as Eibar Football Club before moving to its current name. Initially, it was a football team only "hourly", but was transformed into a team "full time" in the 1943/44 season. Promoted to the Third Division in 1950 and won a transfer to a higher division after three seasons. Five seasons later again in the Third Division, competing in it for 25 of the next 28 years. Returned to the Segunda Division in 1988.

Spent 18 years in a row there before falling to a lower level. In the 2008/09 season finished 21st and was relegated to Segunda Division B. Returned to the Segunda Division after the 2012/13 season. And in 2013/14 they managed to win a transfer to a higher division. But then was threatened with relegation to the Third Division because of his financial instability, which they successfully managed to improve, thanks to his "Protect Eibar" campaign. In the 2016/17 season they finished 10th, and the following season - in 9th place, marking the first time that Eibar finished as the highest ranked team of all teams in the Basque Autonomous Region.
