Associazione Calcio Chievo Verona, known as AK Chievo or nicknamed "Flying Donkeys" is a professional football team based in Verona, Italy. It was founded in 1929, and the founders are football fans. O.N.D. Kievo was initially created, which played in amateur matches. Today the team hosts visiting teams at the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium.
They made their football debut in Italy in 1931. But it fell apart in 1936 due to the economic crisis and returned to the world of football back in 1948. Played in the local amateur championship until 1970, when the club was admitted to the fifth level of Italian football - Promotion-Veneto region. Subsequently, they managed to enter Serie D, then climbed into Serie C2. They have won Group B in 1988/89 and qualified for Serie C1, in which the team remained for 5 seasons. The beginning of the biggest success of the team was set in 1992. They qualified for Serie A for the first time in the 2000/01 season. The first season was impressive and they finished in 5th place, qualifying for the UEFA Cup, but quickly dropped out of it. In the 2004/05 season they encountered significant difficulties, but managed to avoid relegation. In the 2005/06 season they managed to qualify for the next Champions League tournament, but were eliminated in the third preliminary round by the Levski with 2:0 as a guest and a draw 2:2 as a host.
In 2006/07 they were relegated to Serie B again, but managed to return to Serie A in 2007/08.
