Bologna is a sports team from the professional Italian football. The have won 7 Serie A titles as well as 2 Coppa Italia. Also won the summer European tournament Intertoto Cup in 1988. It was founded by the austrian Emilio Arnstein and his brother, who are football fans and even founded another football team in Austria (FC Black Star) before moving to Italy.
On October 3, 1909, the football club of the same name was established in the city of Bologna. They played their first official match on March 20, 1910. In their first season, they played in the regional division before moving to the Veneto-Emiliano Group, where they spent four seasons, and moved to the northern league of Italy, before the competitions stopped due to the First World War.
Once it's over, they're in pretty good shape and reaping success. They won the state championship and, after Serie A was created, won the Scudetto several times before World War II.
After it, they no longer have their previous form. But they managed to become champions of Italy several more times.
In 1981/82 the team fell into a difficult period and reached the C1 Series. In 1996 they returned to Serie A, and in 1998 they even won the Intertoto Cup. Relegated to Serie B in the 2004/05 season. Fortunately, in 2007/08 they reached second place in Serie B and returned to the top league of the Italian football.
