Aston Villa (called "Villa" or "Lions") is one of the most titled clubs in English football. It was founded on November 21, 1874 by members of a local cricket club, and the main mission of the football team was to have fun during the cold winter days. The team has played at the eponymous Villa Park since 1897, becoming part of the founders of both the First Division and the Premier League in 1992.

They play with burgundy outfits paired with light blue sleeves and white shorts. The emblem of the team is in the mentioned colors, and in the middle is added an upright lion, colored in yellow. Aston Villa's biggest opponent is the local Birmingham City. The clash between them is called the "Second City derby" or simply the "Birmingham derby". Villa also has a heated argument with West Bromwich Albion in a rivalry called the West Midlands Derby. In addition, "Villa Park" is an inhospitable place for the leading English teams.

Undoubtedly the most significant success in the 145-year history of the club was winning the CASH in 1982 in Rotterdam. In the same year, Villa won the UEFA Super Cup, and another European achievement was related to the triumph in the non-existent Intertoto Cup.

The Lions can boast of 7 championship titles, the last of which became a fact in 1981. They have 7 more English Cups, 5 League Cups and 1 Super Cup. The biggest victory in an official match was in 1886 with 13: 0 against Wensbury Old Athletic, and the most embarrassing defeat was inflicted a few years ago by Chelsea (0: 8).

The record holder for most games played is held by Charlie Aitken with his 657 games, and the top goalscorer is Billy Walker (244). The club's hall of fame includes 13 former football players, Stilian Petrov is also one of them with 185 games.
